Dahlia is a beautiful flower with rich colors and diverse flower shapes. We have selected some varieties with larger flowers, which I believe will bring a visual impact to your garden. These flowers typically bloom in summer and autumn and are popular ornamental plants in gardens, suitable for flower beds, borders or as cut flowers.
- Thomas Edison Dahlia -- It produces large, vibrant-purple blooms up to 8 across. With fully double flowers in a unique, electric shade, this dahlia makes a bold statement when planted in groups of 5 or more. Excellent as a cut flower and used in many wedding bouquets and arrangements.
- Vancouver Dahlia -- Carried atop sturdy stems, Vancouver's enormous, fully double flowers span 8–10" across, commanding attention wherever used. The long, slightly cupped, blue-violet petals are stunningly tipped in white.
- Zorro Dahlia -- Mysterious and deep, the red hue of this massive 12" zorro dahlia will create quite a scene in your landscape. Plant in a prominent spot where it is easily seen.
🌱 Sow dahlia seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, covering them with 1/4 inch of soil. Keep the soil moist and well-lit. After seedlings sprout in 7-14 days and have a few leaves, gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions. Transplant them outside after the last frost, spacing 12-18 inches apart in full sun.
